Brief History of the Barangay
Barangay Kanluran is a peaceful community. It is located at the west part of the town near the seashore of Manila Bay, thus, it is identified as one of the eleven coastal barangays. The source of living of the residents are as follows: fishing, selling of fresh fish, smoked fish and dried fish-making.
Since most of the residents of the barangay belong to the low-class status in society, the punong barangay, together with other officials and members, is trying his best to think of projects and other livelihood programs to improve their well-being and change their status in the society.
Barangay Kanluran has a total land area of 13.5360 hectares.
Based on the PSA Census 2015, the population of barangay Kanluran was 3,971 people with a density of 293,337 per hectare.
